It's really good until "The day the wind became jealous."

The only reason I don't like that part is because it is extremely cliché and reeking with teenage angst.

I genuinely thought it would good, though... but I figured you'd appreciate an honest opinion from me. :)

Wow. I think you've captured the true egotism and spirit that lies behind a strong marching band and what drives them. The fact that the drum major could have so much pride in his band that he'd believe a simple wind was jealous of them is pure genius. It'd take someone from a band that was as dedicated as the ones in this story to understand it though, so I fear that most people may just miss the point. I'll be off now to dig up my old District Marching Band Show tapes now... Thanks for the nostalgia.
