Man, I got hit with probably the worst flu ever. Friday and Saturday it took me a good 6 hours to work up the energy for a shower or to venture to the kitchen to warm up some leftovers. I seldom get sick, but when I do: bleeeeaeeargh ( Read more... )

I love your icon.

Your surname doesn't, by very weird coincidence, happen to begin with an F does it?

I was depressed tonight so I thought I'd nosey for like-minded people. Strangely, I found two I'd already encountered... The internet is a weird, weird place!
How did you guess I'm me? ;)

Saw your journal entry about Beatrice and that pretty much clinched it!

So you just typed my name into google or what? I'm curious as to your e-noseying methods.

I feel somewhat ashamed at the lack of anything of real substance in my journal. I'd say all my old private entries have more to them, but they get progressively more introspective teenager-esque the earlier you go back.

Well, I hope you feel better somehow soon. Think about French-speaking penguins - it never fails to cheer me.

my god how did i miss this entry.

one day we should have a serious (very very serious) conversation about joss whedon and how amazing and brilliant he is! i am a huge buffy fan and haven't really watched any tv since it ended. i even had a buffy quote inscribed on my ipod! but i think the writing is so witty and clever and the characters real, with growth and flaws and the whole package deal.

watching the old seasons now, it seems so campy because it's old and the budget was low and the technology not as great as it would become, but if you can get past that and allow yourself to watch the show grow, you will be greatly rewarded.

now that i've talked it up it'll probably end up being crap to you, but invest in them. if only you lived not on the other side of the world, for you could borrow all my buffy dvds!

uh i don't mean invest in buying them, that's a lot of money (though in canada, you can now get the season boxed sets for about $20 each sometimes, compared to the $50-60 i spent on them! you can also get one box set with all 7 seasons but it came out long after i had bought them all already, and it's about $200. i don't know what this means to you, because i don't know how much my money is worth in comparison to yours, but ours is about 94 cents to every american dollar) but definitely invest in watching them!

haha, this is perhaps my most popular entry yet! I need to talk about influenza and Joss Whedon more, clearly!

Yeah, I think I can download most (if not all) of the show off the student network here (piracy woo!) so getting them is not such a problem. It's just the time investment, like you say. Especially because I will find it hard to stop at something one episode a day.

But I'd say the Buffy viewing must happen some day. Perhaps over the summer I might view, at the very least, a couple of seasons. I'll let you know!

Ha, okayokay. I really do need to get back into the updating loop, don't I? It is the only thing stopping me from winning at LJ! And that is a worthy goal. Or something.

And I will definitely try incorporating ?"] into it. If I don't, I expect you to call me on it.
