Kim's still trying to perfect her cookies. The batch she made for Angie wasn't horrible, but not nearly as good as her Mom's, either.

She spent some time last week going through boxes and trying to find her mom's cookbooks. Now, she's sitting at the table reading through them and reliving some old memories.

She's able to smile as she turns the pages, still missing her mom, but able to remember her life and not just her death.

From the living room, she hears motion, and finds a note next to a certain receipe.

"Chase? You have to see this," she grins, recognizing her own childish writing.

Chase is sprawled on the couch, still fuming. He's not in the mood to be smiling and laughing with her about anything. Even cookies.

He hauls himself off the couch and stands behind her, arms folded, giving the recipe a cursory glance.

"Yeah. That's great, Kim."

"That was one of mom's favorites," she turns and smiles, oblivious to his mood. "I tried to make it a few times, it turned out better than that first Christmas, but...not that much better."

He looks away, disbelieving.

Maybe Behrooz is putting her in a good mood.

"Kim--I don't want to talk about cookies right now, okay?"
