MW

Eons later, I've finally scanned in some pages of Tezuka's MW.
Some people call it the "Tezuka yaoi story", only that it's not really yaoi per se, it's just a noir seinen manga with lots of homo- and bisexuality in it. I have the theory that Tezuka got inspired by Kaze to Ki no Uta (the revolutionary first yaoi manga), which was first published in ( Read more... )

In the top scenes, it seems like Yuki is telling him that he loves him, and that Garai belongs to him until death. Then Garai says, "I don't want you to leave me; I don't want to let you go... I love you ( ... )

gonzesse: rude word for a girl. He says "Dude, you're really cute, you know? You look quite like a girl. Don't move, you shouldn't be scared. ... Sorry. You are really cute, I..." End of flashback. And then Yuki says that that's the first time someone entered him.

In the Greek sequence Yuki is basically jealous because he suspects Garait is meeting someone later, possibly a woman called Tantôt or "maybe a priest and telling him stupid things like the last time".

I was looking at your LJ back entries and found this. Thanks for posting it. Very interesting.

I wanted to point out that Garai is supposed to look like the main character in the ultra-macho manga series about a professional hit man titled "Golgo 13." Perhaps this is Tezuka's commentary about professional killers (and the popularity of the genre at the time).

Golgo 13 sounded familiar, so I just googled it; yeah, I've seen that guy around. Interesting, thanks for pointing that out.
