I have a bunch of truly incredible guy friends whose main crisis in the world of romance is repeatedly becoming the "friend" (also see: 'girl'friend, sweetheart, or the sucker). This intrigued me so much, because these people have all these incredible qualities and were often recognized for them, but still remained the "friend" at all times

initial reaction: oh hey this sounds like multiple drunk maddie and josh conversations.
i'd say you nailed the femme perspective pretty well, but now my question is if this can be used on the reverse as well for dudes...because you know that we've been in the same position as you guys have with regards to guy friends that we like. we aren't always the bad guys! i think the key point though is the "he/she is just not that into you" which can be an ego bruiser, but that's life.

yeah i agree with maddie and want to know about the male side of the story. what's the deal with guys when they don't like me?

also, you neglect to take into account physical attractiveness and if a girl doesn't find a guy attractive then you can't really redeem that.

another fine job josh. i always find your entries the most interesting. probably because i can relate to them most of the time.

while i'm sure there are similarities, you should do another one of these for those of us on the other side of the world who are dealing with japanese girls...haha

it'd be a typical thing to say this sort of thing happens to "guys like us" or whatever
but i like when people say that. i like being that sort of person to go through all of that
