What really strikes me about this piece, is the opening paragraph where she nararrates: ..."He's no longer just the CAG, he's no longer the Captain, he's Lee Adama..."

That is a very poignant distinction to make, since it holds such relevance to the character of Lee himself. In KLG, he uses that definition as a shield, a determination factor of who he is to someone, and a means to supress other desires and emotions that fall out of what is professional.

I love how Dee can admit that to herself, feel shaken by it, and eventually embrace it.

Thank you for the constructive feedback, I really appreciate it.

I've always seen Lee as using his rank and his position to keep people at bay and to keep himself uninvolved and disconnected in some way. As you said, helps him to supress desires and emotions. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who sees him that way.
