If you haven't seen it, I recommend Flushed Away, a CGI rat-themed film from Dreamworks and Aardman. I was skeptical, since I don't consider Dreamworks CGI movies to have a good track record, but it looked like they handled the check-signing activities while Aardman was responsible for making the actual film. Their rendering is nowhere near the level of Pixar's, but it doesn't have to be, since it's supposed to emulate the look of plasticine stop-motion (which the film was originally going to use, except for the prohibitive difficulty of the large amount of water featured in it).
Of course, I too am excited about Ratatouille, or any other new Pixar or Brad Bird film. :)
Now that I see the pictures, I realize that I had seen scenes of this before, though definitely not the movie. Unfortunately, the venue was the most unhelpful place to watch a movie, namely Chuck E Cheese (couldn't hear any dialog, or music, or what-have-you), and it was just the trailer on infinite replay. (I remember marveling at the Union Jack jeans of the female character.)
But I had been wondering what the stuff was; many thanks for letting me know. I do like Aardman's work a lot, so given a more quiet setting, this should be great fun to watch.
