The Book List!

Aug 03, 2004 00:12

So in a past entry I asked people to recommend some good books for me to read (on top of my already extensive proposed reading list; this is going to take me the rest of my life, haha). I'm going to list them all here for my own reference but hey, some people might want to flip through it too for something new to read ( Read more... )

i second the brothers karamazov recommendation...i just finished it a short while ago.

but--AMERICAN PSYCHO, by bret easton ellis, is my first recommendation. this is one of the best books ever, though half the people who read it seem to entirely miss the point [or 'what i think is the point' anyway]
coin locker babies, by ryu murakami
anything by thomas pynchon
in a country of mothers, by a.m. homes
requiem for a dream, by hubert selby jr
oh &if you want brain candy i highly suggest GOSSIP GIRL. fluffy yes. but hilarious.

OOH, I need to see American Psycho, too. And American History X. heh. (random)

Coin Locker Babies! I can't wait to read this book. I was reading about those sorts of things in one (or all, lol) of my 'something somewhere in Asia' Anthropology courses...

thank you <3

I don't remember the name of the author, but the title is "DaVinci Code". Apparently, it's very good. My mom is reading it, and I'll have the book in a few days.

Also, I like Patricia MacDonald. All her books. It's suspence and action books. Similar to Mary Higgins Clark.

hey, thanks for all the suggestions! i'm a bit iffy on Jane Austen, but I'll give it a try.

the author of DaVinci Code (and Angels and Demons) is Dan Brown. :)

Sojourner Truth's Ain't I a Woman

Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre (Rather long, but good)
