i think i might just withdraw money from a bank in rome associated with mine back home... they would charge set rates, right? because the post office here totally ripped me off last time i exchanged for euros :/

I'm so jealous of your Euro-tripping!
I've never been to Italy, but from what I've heard there are a lot of pickpockets in Rome, so don't carry a big/noticeable purse. Or y'know, get a cool-looking fanny pack. Also, in case of creepers, "non mi tocchi" means don't touch me XD

ahaha those will both be very helpful. the purse thing is annoying, because i only have a huge purse and a tiny one not big enough to hold more than my wallet, so i'm gonna have to compromise somehow :/

I'm feeling quite envious. I visited that part of Italy several years back now and its quite lovely. I fell in love with Florence and its Duomo. However, I found nothing to see in Pisa except the tower which in itself is amazing but that's it so half a day there is plenty. If you can get there a trip to Assisi (home of St Francis) will give you some sites to behold. It's like stepping into the old testament. Absolutely amazing from the outside and so beautiful inside the many chapels! I also think I had the best ice cream in Italy from a little shop at the foot of that town. Orgasms in the mouth...oh yes!
