The worst book I ever read for school was... I can't remember what it was called, but it was about a boy who dug up a giant whale skeleton in his backyard.  I hated that book.

Easy Silence

In the midst
of the rubble;
shattered concrete,
broken wood, torn-up
insulation, splinters in the air,
there you lay.

You can't move,
something's laying
on your hip, crushing it
into painful submission.

And you lay there,
scared and wounded,
waiting for someone to come
