After two years in and out of my care, my "rescue" plant did something I didn't know plants did and helped me verify my suspicions of it's identity.Later in the Philodendron's life, it starts producing adult leaves, a process called morphogenesis. Mine have to hang from the ceiling, or the cat nibbles (she got to my spider plant). This plant pictured is poisonous to cats and dogs.

Turns out it might not be the Philodendron selloum after all! Apparently there is some naming controversy.
