Lost in Austen

The other day I caught the miniseries Lost in Austen, one of those "Austen fan gets literally sucked into the story" retellings. I'd heard mixed reviews, so when it showed up on netflix instant streaming, I figured I'd give it a shot

Yeah, I saw this when it first came out a while ago and it is basically a self insert fic. Just kind of leaves a weird aftertaste. Also agree about some of the just plain weird character interpretations, although Caroline being a lesbian did amuse me at the time. As did Mr Bennet's name being Claude.

There's just something so awkward about the whole thing. Although Gemma Aterton was good, because she's always pretty good.
