a flash into the past to the times i dream of getting back in touch with, things were simpler and more genuine, if i could have the best of both worlds..... blah

I feel the exact same way all the time. Sometimes when I think about how happy and free I was then, and what i have become now, I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. I guess that is just the way it is though. We need to all go camping brother.
