Ahhhh, I am so happy to hear you liked it! I'm always nervous writing gift fics, especially one for you and even more so as it is a more angsty story and seems like an odd gift for a birthday.

I love that this situation was on the newer side for you. I wanted to do something a bit different than the usual and I knew, of course, from the beginning that I wanted to do a Draco/Albus story but wasn't sure how to go about it. It was this section on your likes/dislikes post that inspired me:
I'm really happy if Draco is secretly wanting Harry when he is with Al.Er, I went in search for more, because I thought there was more that led me to thinking of it going both ways, haha but I couldn't find it! But yeah, I thought the idea of them both wanting someone else, using each other it sort of balanced the scales, and yet it's still kind of a terrible situation. Yikes it gets angstier and angstier the more I talk/write about it, haha

Oh my god, that was so utterly hot and painful. I love the little moments in which it's real and it is Draco before reality comes crashing down and this is what they can have. Awesome!

Oh, UNF this is just as amazing as I remember! I love the style here, the first person lends itself really well to the flashes of this encounter. It doesn't feel jumpy or choppy, but I love how it's not drawn out, how you don't get lost in the mechanics or in detailing ever caress, because that's not what this is about for them. And GOD the whole thing is just super hot, the desperation and need building inside Albus, the way they're both totally desperate for it, even while they're thinking of other people. That edge of angst and unrequited love was perfect! It didn't overpower the hot sexing, but it was totally present throughout. Basically, this was just really awesome! <33

Haha, I think that is my wishful thinking as well! After I read this, myself, I had this sort of feeling that I want more to develop our of their relationship. It's tempting to write a fanfiction based on this fiction (not a sequel or companion piece, mind you, just a further deviation from this plot) where the two grow to love each other. hehe
