Squee! Heh. What I'd really love is to view it, but I doubt they'd allow it- I've heard over the years that actually seeing an item at the ROM can be pretty tough. The photo she sent is even better than the online ones (which are pretty good in themselves- I'm kicking myself for not having been able to find it in the online collection- the search parameters must be pretty bad)- I can even see the thread through the fabric in one spot- so I'm not complaining, since I could have easily been dismissed with a quick answer, which I've had in the past (I emailed once about the dessert trenchers). :> She didn't technically answer the question, but by sending the photo (I had mentioned that the display cabinet didn't allow me to see it closely enough), I should be able to figure it out myself. :>

Yeesh- I seem to be having good luck with this. I just got another email from someone else in the department with the same photo attached! :) (I'd rather have this happen than no answer at all- the photo is of one of the bird motifs that shows both complete and partially complete stitching)
