Hey bro, I'm sorry to hear this...if you ever need anything, I'm there for you; I can't give you any real thoughts on this because I've never really experienced this with anyone I really cared about...but try not to beat yourself up too much about it; I'm sure your grandfather would understand--it's not like you do nothing in life, you're a man of multiple professions and these things take time--you've been productive on your own terms, and how can any grandfather not be proud of that?

one of my grandpas lived in england and i only got to meet him once before he died

the other is twelve hours away, in failing health, and i see him maybe 1-2 times a year. it's not enough and tears me up to think about him.
