Poopcat is in ur apartment, pooping on things

So.
About a month and a half ago, one of my coworkers had to move to St. Louis. Family stuff, I think.
He posted on the company newsgroups about the fact that he couldn't bring his cat with him, and if anyone was willing to take her in, that would be wonderful. She was orange and white and a sweetie of epic proportions. She was also twelve - which ( Read more... )

the cat probably has something like irritable bowel disease. take her to a vet to get checked/scoped.

and try changing the litter. my cat bastet hated corn litter and would pee outside the litter box all the time = annoying. changed it back to clay and she has no more issues.

Oh, she's been to the vet twice with me, and several times with her previous owner. The vets have tried several different things...just none of them have worked awesomely yet. As for the litter - she pees in the box, always. It's just the poopin' she has issues with. I have heard the cats can start to associate the discomfort of diarrhea with the litter box, and that might be why she doesn't use it....so I'm hoping if we can stop the diarrhea, the litter box use will follow.
Irritable bowel disease certainly does describe her issues quite well, though ;). Her bowels are downright angry.
