I wonder if they decided in the conceptual stages that because the show's name was The Good Wife, Alicia had to stay married to Peter throughout the entirety of its run. Because that is the only reason I can think of for Alicia to stay with him. God knows they've never given us any canonical reason for why she stays with him.
I feel like I've been denied payoff for seasons, although I'm not even sure what exactly I want. If that makes any sense at all. It makes perfect sense, because I feel the exact same way! Honestly, at this point I'd even be willing to see a storyline where Alicia and Peter do get back together (even though it would definitely mean the end for me and Alicia), as long as they show WHY. Because so far it's like we're in a constant state of limbo - for FOUR YEARS. I mean, enough already!
I am feeling the exact same way about Revenge. And given I spoiled myself, well, not that that was necessary. It's been kind of easy to see where the plot arcs are going. It definitely isn't must-see tv for me anymore.
I feel like I don't really know where the plot arcs are going at all, but that's more because I can't be bothered to watch closely enough to know what's really going on and, in extension of my disinterest, can't be bothered to figure out what it all means. It used to be a decent show, right? How did it just disintegrate into this pile of crap?
Hart of Dixie just keeps on destroying me. A part of me wants to give up on it because it makes me miserable but then another part of me is hoping that they'll put Zoe and George together, learn that they are actually really boring and that the audience doesn't give a fuck about them, realise that the best thing about the show is and has always been the chemistry between Zoe and Wade and turn it into THEIR epic love story. because there is something so much more interesting and difficult and epic about Z/W, compared with the predictable, cliched snooze fest that is Z/G. But then I think what is probably going to happen is that the show will never give up on the love triangle and she'll go back and forth between them for season upon season until I hate them all.
I wanted Alicia/Cary so bad I'm completely bummed about how that episode ended.
Decided to drop Revenge. I hate it now so there's not much point continuing to torture myself.
New Girl is love. And I'm obsessed with The Americans.
I wanted this season to start with getting Zoey/George out of the way, but when they didn't, the last shred of my faith in the show was lost. I just don't think they're going to let it go, and as soon as they drop Z/W for Z/G, I'm out of there.
The Good Wife is a good show, but I don't think it's been a great show since they brought back Peter as a possibility for Alicia. Now, if they'd just shake up the format for a bit, I think it could become great again.
I've got Revenge at the back of my To Watch queue, and if I don't reach the end by the time the next episode airs, I think I'm just going to call it quits.
The Americans! I just watched episode 4 last night and I'm falling deeper and deeper into obsession.
I never got around to watching Revenge, and now so many people are meh on it that it doesn't seem worth my while. Would you agree with that assessment?
Because if the latter, how long can we keep rooting for Phillip and Elizabeth when them winning also means the Soviet Union winning? Will they perhaps strike out on their own?
Did you watch last night's episode yet? I got a gut feeling of which direction the writers might end up going with here in regard to their mission's "success." But I don't want to say more if you haven't watched yet.
I hadn't watched it when I got your comment, but now I have, so now I'm dying to hear your theory.
Yay for it being renewed! I'm so happy smaller networks are willing to develop quality shows instead of appealing to the lowest common denominator and yanking anything that doesn't perform as expected in the blink of an eye.
