I can't believe that there still hasn't shown up a downloadable copy of HIMYM 4x15. I mean, people have it. And they've gotten it from multiple places. And no one is tech savy enough to remove the personal info and upload it to us poor embittered souls who are doing without. Won't someone please think of the children fans ( Read more... )

I'm with you, honey. It's totally the Sheldon Show and thank god for that, and I think they're dragging out the Sheldon/Penny pairing for later because it obvious the way it's writen that these two are simply as awesome and peanut butter and jelly together :)

It's funny how they're not even hiding it anymore. I'm pretty sure there were several episodes this season where Leonard has one line - tops!

I'm enjoying the idea of Penny/Sheldon, but I'm not quite yet sold on the idea. Penny has gotten much better in season 2, but I didn't enjoy her so much in season 1, and that's still creating lingering issues. Just a few more episodes of her being awesome should do it.

Oh definately. We've had episodes were all Leonard does is sit on the couch with a mug of coffee and smiles. But lets be honest here; Dr. Sheldon Cooper FTW. ;)

Your first point! I never get to see it in real time any more because I can't ever manage to be awake at that time on Monday. It's too bad there isn't a reliable source for streaming either. I've been able to find streaming sources for so many shows, but never that one.

You guys are really making me want to watch Big Bang Theory. A guy where I work said he'd burn it for me too, I just keep forgetting to bring him a few blank DVD's.

And I tried Being Erica yesterday! It's fun and cute, but the "therapist" bugs me with his existential quoting. People who quote are obnoxious unless they're quoting television. *g*

I got it! Holy crap, that was just about killing me, knowing it was out there somewhere, mocking me. But now I can watch it in less than 10 minutes.

Someone commented in my entry after marathoning season 1 that the geekiness of the geeks feels wrong. It's sort of like 80's geekiness, with a few mentions of the word blog to make it seem current. But if you just ignore that (and the laugh track), Sheldon totally makes it worth it.

You know, I hardly ever pay that much attention to Dr. Tom, I'm all about Erica. I love the actress who plays her, and even though the premise can be considered kind of cheesy, I never feel that it is, it just feels like a very natural thing - "oh right, of course she needs to time travel to set this right" (though it hardly ever changes anything).

I got it too! I noticed before the screening. I'm just about to sit down to watch with some nommy home made soup.

Oh, I trust that I'll like it based on the people on my flist who like it. And funny enough, it's Sheldon who makes me wince sometimes just because I dated a guy who was genuinely that geeky. Sheldon is not that much of an exaggeration from reality. *g*

Ugh, I wish I could tune him out. Because, I agree, I really like Erica and the actress who plays her. Odds are I'll keep watching if only because it's something I can stream at work. That's pretty much my entire basis for television watching right now.

It looks like you found what you were looking for. I was just about to point you in that direction. ;)

I think they moved sweeps to March this year, but I still haven't figured out why.

Thanks for the thought. I figured there might be a chance it was floating out there and if I just mentioned it I'd get the kind of response I was looking for (and got!).

They moved sweeps month? To March? The month when (traditionally)no new episodes air? That's bizarre. Could it have something to do with last year's strike?

Yeah, I'm not sure. A lot of shows are heading into mini-hiatuses through February, and then not coming back until March for sweeps. Which just makes for a strange break, because most shows came back from their winter hiatuses just two or three weeks ago.

Oh, oh! And the other thing I was going to say was about FNL! Just based on everyone's reviews, I'm pretty much refusing to watch the last episode of S3 until I know for sure whether there will be a S4. I don't like the idea of Matt stuck in Dillon forever. I was really, really loving the addition of Shelby, since it meant Matt didn't have to do everything on his own anymore, and then...not so much. Do not want. Also, I know it'll make for good underdog drama in S4, but I don't want Coach to be anything other than a Dillon Panther. That's too much change for me. :p

I keep butting in today. :)

The March sweeps have to do with the broadcasters switching to 100% digital this month.

From Wikipedia:

the February 2009 sweeps period has been moved to March so that the ratings would not be affected by any problems created by the February 17th switchover of the USA's broadcast television signals to digital television. It also will give a clearer picture of ratings since this period will not include the Super Bowl (in sweeps since 2004) or Daytona 500 (in sweeps since 2007 when finish aired in primetime), which often will artificially inflate ratings in "sweeps" periods.

President Obama had a (very long) press conference that was being aired all Monday night -- it pushed Big Bang Theory back a ton -- so that might have been why they pulled HIMYM? Of course stupid Two and a Half Men still aired. :P

they just gave up pretending that Leonard was the main character and made it The Sheldon Show (with occasional preemptions featuring The Penny/Sheldon Show). Which is really how it should be, considering he makes the show.

Heeee, I was just saying exactly this the other day. Sheldor rules!

Oh, I know about the press conference, but the episode was still available on iTunes and Amazon the next day, as per usual, and a bunch of people bought it and watched. I finally got my grubby hands on a download link, so let me know if you want it.

Sheldon was the one who kept me watching in season 1, but I just wasn't feeling the urge to pick up season 2 until just last week, and when I did it turns out they'd basically gone and made him the lead! Which suits me just perfectly. =)
