I adore Life on Mars so much. I like how the show plays with the idea of reality. I think both series finales show Sam's acceptance of his "reality" in 1973. It's a neat show.
I think the right model won Make Me A Supermodel but Holly's voice is so irritating. /shallow :)
I really didn't warm up to season 1, mostly because I didn't understand where they were going with it, and the finale only seemed to confirm that where they were going wasn't where I wanted them to go. However, season 2 worked just like I thought it should.
I really liked her accent, I thought it was charmingly hillbilly, but I hated the nasal/whiny quality, and the girl has got to learn other words besides "like". It was, AT LEAST, every other word out of her mouth.
In response to your thoughts about The Office, ITA. Personally, I thought it was hilarious, especially given the type of relationship Jim and Pam have. It would have been one of those "I'm never going to forgive you for that" situations, but when it boils down to it, it WAS funny. Besides, Jim DID try to take her with him, initially. lol
Sometimes I wonder at people's perception of these characters, because I don't feel I see eye to eye with just about anyone when it comes to The Office. But then again, after withdrawing from the fandom throughout most of season 3, I'm more inclined to see it as "just a TV show" than I was before. A good TV show, but a TV show nonetheless.
BWHAHAHAHA I could swear it has grown since its Creek days...and even then it was humongous!
Might I recommend Ashes to Ashes? I know many LoM fans don't like it...but you seem like the kind of person who would enjoy a great show without comparing it to its predecesor.
Also, I'm right with you on the Pam/Jim thing...it was so in their nature, I mean...that's how they work!
I think that his forehead was first made even worse by the up-do of his youth, and then made worse by the receding hairline.
Oh hey, I totally forgot to ask about that in the post even though I meant to. So in your opinion Ashes to Ashes is worth watching? I've heard that it wasn't too well-received, but seeing as how I grew up in the 80s (it is about the 80s, right? I didn't get that wrong, did I?), I figure it might appeal to me more than most. Plus, while I liked LoM, I never grew to love it the way some people have. The DVDs are coming out soonish, though I might just wait until the price has gone down a bit.
Frankly, I don't get most of fandom's reaction to The Office. And I think I'm the happier for it. =)

Totally! I'm so in love with it! I, like you, never really loved LoM so maybe that's why I didn't have such preconceptions when watching A2A, but for me A2A is so much cooler, and Alex is so awesome! Plus the 80's is much more fun and pretty (i.e. how cool were those clothes? I too grew in the 80's so that's a plus) than the 70's! Plus we get to see more of Chris and Ray and the interaction between Alex & Gene is soo awesome! I defentaley love it in a way that I didn't LoM and for me the whole season and the ending of season 1 is so much more satisfying than LoM!
I SAW THAT THUMB TOO! He's been stroking her shoulder the entire time and then she moves her shoulders to shrug and he loses his grip a little and then CLINGS ON BY A THUMB. I DON'T KNOW, IT'S REALLY INTIMATE, I'VE BEEN WATCHING IT A LOT.
You said other things in this post but obviously I am not able to focus on anything else.
The long swiiiiiipe of that thumb just makes my mouth go dry every time. For me, it wasn't even a contest between that moment and the kiss that came after. I mean, I even made a .gif so I could stare at it...
