Okay, so here's something that's been bugging me for the past, oh, 12 years or so:

At the beginning of Speed, when Harry and Jack are in the elevator shaft, this is roughly how I remember their conversation:

Harry: A terrorist is holding a hostage. You're ten feet away. What do you do?
Jack: Shoot the terrorist.

While I did see Speed in the theater, I do not remember the first version at all. It sounds like what happens to me on occasion. I've long quoted a line from a film, or whatever, and as years pass I give the quotes my own twist. Then I watch the film again and it's like "Huh? That's not how it goes!" But I do agree that the conversation makes more sense with the added line ( ... )

I'm starting to think I went to a preview screening or something, because I swear it was there.

The only thing I can think of for Piz/Veronica fans to like is the lack of depth, i.e. not so much angst, because honestly, has Veronica even looked at him except in exasperation?

I'm glad you got it, I realized after a while that LJ has been so wonky lately that I would have no clue if people got the comments or not.

Or fandom will support Anyone Who's Not Logan (TM). I just don't see any value in that relationship whatsoever.

I checked the IMDB for alternative versions, but it doesn't mention anything about that dialogue.

I'm just so freaked out because while I didn't remember the dialog that well, I remember reacting very strongly when it had been cut out.

It won't let my copy and paste the text, but there is indeed an exchange on pages 7 & 8 similar to what you recall. So you're probably not crazy.

My point isn't even really about what happens on the show, it's the way that Piz supporters seem to think that Logan supporters even care to make it a contest.

I agree that Veronica didn't seem to even give him a second thought, I would not have been happy about that.

not yet, unfortunately. and it keeps taunting me on my desktop! but I will for sure watch it by this weekend and let you know what I think of it ^_^
