Won't Get Fooled Again.

I've reached episode 15 of season 2 in my Farscape rewatch (it's slower going now that I've reached season 2 and actually want to watch certain episodes start to finish). Every damn time I watch Won't Get Fooled Again I get this urge to cap it. So I finally did. And then there was the urge to picspam it, because aside from being the most ( Read more... )

It is so awesome. I think that showing this episode to newbies can backfire in two ways: They'll love it and want it to always be like this (granted, it's crazy most of the time, but much more piecemeal than here), or they'll think it's just too far out there for them to contemplate watching. However, watching it in context with, for example, AHR, TWWW and some other less cracky episodes would probably be a great way to introduce someone to the show. This episode also explains a lot of things about the neural clone and all things Scorpius that we haven't been privy to before.

Heee. I love this episode too.

The Chiana virginity-taking was a pretty impressive retcon, especially considering John mentioned "Karen" before Chiana even appeared on the show. One wonders whether they got lucky or they deliberately made the names obliquely similar.

I think they just realized what they could do in the process of writing Kansas and went with it. They're good with continuity, but I think it's more because they pay attention to what they're writing than having every detail mapped out for years to come.

I forgot how awesome this episode was. I'm just cracking up at the caps and at the dialogue, and I think it's about time I rewatch the whole series again. This show had the best ridiculous and wacked up dream sequences EVER, but it never seemed inappropriate, if that makes sense. It can do no wrong. (Crais is just SO hilarious in these screencaps.)

As soon as Harvey is introduced (and WGFA is the episode where John names him) I think you start to see what this show really is, and after WGFA it really finds its footing in a whole new way. It must be boring for Lani to only do the voiceovers, so it wouldn't surprise me if they gave Crais extra weird stuff just so he'd get to stretch his acting legs.

SO much Love.

Farscape is at its best when it's whacked out, strung out, maxxed out on the crazy. Unlike other writing staff, I actually praise the use of crack in their staff room.

Yuhuh! We should just lock them in a room with a mountain of crack and not let them out until they've written a season 5 for us all to enjoy. I think that's reasonable considering how much the DVDs are.

So many Farscape episodes are like that. You just gotta learn to embrace the crack, though it can take a few viewings.
