DVD whore

Many, many, many things today (most specifically this icon) have conspired to remind me of my favorite kisses post that I wrote a while back. I spent some valuable time searching for it, because of course the tag I used was less than useful. I finally found it and tagged it properly. Right now, I think this kiss *points to icon* would take the ( Read more... )

It seems like a kissing kind of day, doesn't it ;)

And the funny thing is that I went looking for that post even before you posted about Gilmore Girls. I think this TWW kiss fried my brain. And it continues to do so every time I look at the icon. And it's not like I've been using it sparingly in the last few days. ;-)

Anyway, because of this new addition I've been thinking I should make a new post, but really, they're still all the same, except for this one addition, so it would be pointless.

Your icon is the reason why I need to start watching TWW. *g* Well, that, among other things (I'm sure).

If you revamped that post I could comment on how much I approve of your number 1 choice. *g*

Oh, you should totally watch that next. The first two seasons are some of the best television has ever had to offer. The only two seasons I usually hear people call "perfect" are Farscape season 3 and The West Wing season 2, so that should give you some idea of just how good it is.

But it's not really a show to watch for 'shippiness, but it's so worth it, nonetheless (this coming from the ultimate 'shipper). The characters, the dialogue, the politics...everything - that's what I love about it.

I'm pretty sure The Christmas Invasion is on the first DVD for Series Two. It's supposed to have TCI and the first episode of the new season, "New Earth".

Yay! I've been looking for TCI since it aired this Christmas and I've grown increasingly frustrated that it hasn't shown up. But now I can finally cap it. And the first episode!

Someone needs to post a 10-page treatise right the heck now and knock this post lower on my browser, because I'm afraid there's no other way I would be able to stop looking at your icon. Seriously. I need to go to class. But every time it starts up, there's something new to examine. Josh's fingers. Donna's fingers. Donna's hair. And then I open the episode, just for, you know, comparison.

I think Sunday is going to be an interesting time for us. *g*

It's mesmerizing isn't it? I could watch it all day...

Like I told Steph, election day is split into two episodes and it would not surprise me if they made us wait one more week. At least, that's what I'm bracing myself for.

I'm a little disappointed at the A.D. news. But the cynic in me is rather glad that they'll never have a chance to screw it up. 53 perfect episodes is plenty to love forever.

Me too. It really sounded like they wanted to pick it up, so to find out that the people behind it decided to put an end to it is disappointing. Jason Bateman said the same thing in the article, and to some extent I think he's right, because the thing that made the show so great was always being on the brink of cancellation.

Complacency is not a good place for good TV, it invariably loses its urgency, and the urgency is all that sustains you through the hellish wait, whether it be week to week or when you're in hiatus hell and it's month to month.

You're killing me over here with that icon. Seriously. I think that kiss shot up to a top two or three spot on my non-existent list, too. I kinda want to make that list now, actually. Though, at the moment, I can't think of what'd be on it besides the WoCD kiss and this one. Hmmm. Now I really want to make the list. Or I'll just stare at your icon some more. Man, I can't wait for the election episodes. Though, if we can put off that episode that's coming after the election episodes for awhile, I'd be okay with that. :p

On another note, I've been thinking about the AD situation for awhile now, and I'm sad there won't be anymore new episodes, but I feel like it'd be hard to have that last episode, and then open up the wounds again, you know? Just to have them dashed after another 13 episodes or however it'd be before it got cancelled again. :P I really thought the finale was a perfect ending, I would have hated seeing it get screwed up. But it is still sad. I miss those crazy Bluths already.

Last year a few people listed their favorites, but I can imagine it being hard since we're all basically in the same fandoms and we're usually like-minded about these things.

In the post I mentioned that I had a one-kiss-per-fandom rule, or VM would have taken up two more spots. Also, with Farscape there's a lot of great kisses, but none that are as visceral as those I posted. Like, for instance, I think it's in Meltdown that J/D are kissing on the floor and there's this tongue action thing happening that I love. And of course there are more in season 3. And the finale kiss is pretty great. I also like the "triangular" kiss between the Doctor, Captain Jack and Rose in Parting of the Ways. Just to give you some ideas, in case you needed them. *g*

Yeah, the one-kiss-per-fandom rule is a good one, but it's making it harder to narrow it down. There's a JD/Elliott kiss I want to put on there, but I can't decide if it should be from the first season or the second season, and I can't find caps anywhere. Guess I'll have to go rewatch the episodes. SIIIIIIIGH. ;)

And it's so very wrong, but I kinda want to put the J/A kiss from DMD on there, even though it wasn't actually a kiss and he bashed her head in and he wasn't himself, that moment has always made my heart skip a beat. I'm not sure that necessarily earns it a place on the list, but yeah. Otherwise, I'd probably have to go with one of the S3 kisses, though narrowing that down seems impossible. Man! Stupid work getting in the way of fun fandom memes! :p
