Tissa made a new layout earlier (pretty!) and it made me incredibly sad that I hadn't changed my layout even though I've wanted to for several months now. Not knowing what I wanted it to feature probably played a big role ( Read more... )

The header from the last one was amazingly complex to make. I think it scared me away from ever doing another animated header. Like, EVER!

I kinda like having a dark journal because with all this whiteness I can already feel myself squinting. But I couldn't really use any other color. Can you imagine using the bright red from the header? Or the orange? Ouch! I'd develop a headache just from reading my flist. =)

It's nice having a lighter journal again, but I think I'll be changing it fairly soon, probably to something pastel-y. The whiteness is practically blinding me. Also, it's reminding me of the copious amounts of snow outside, which depresses the hell out of me. =)

Oh, gorgeous header! I love how the lines on the outside are decorative, almost abstract, but then lead into an image in the center. It creates such wonderful tension between two dimensional and third dimensional. Love it!

That's what I like about the original icon, and the scene itself, actually. Also, the colors are incredible!

It's from My Name is Earl. The guy peeking into the tunnel? That's Earl. And the guy sitting in the tunnel is Crabman. =)

Oooh, that's so pretty, Jems! I loved that icon ever since you first used it, and the banner with the lines and the bright colors is lovely. :)

You know, I had my Lilly + gray/pink layout since November 2004, it was definitely time for a change. Still, I'm not sure about the white background for the entries yet. So far I'm good with it, but I was never a fan of 100% contrast for text. I might make it a bit darker though -- some off-white gray or green. I'm not sure yet.

And you've had that layout for even longer, haven't you? Because you made that S/B header and used that too? Or was the Lilly header the original one and the S/B one was used for a while or something? Too much confusion!

I'm probably only going to keep this for a short time because damn, I'm feeling snow-blindness coming on after just 12 hours. Now I just have to figure out what I want. Simple is nice, though, I like the simple. Both in your layout and mine. =)

...I never had an S/B layout? Just this icon, which I made after the Lilly banner. The original icon was Clarissa Explains it All, but I got tired of it.

I'm surprisingly okay with the white still, but then, I went from light-gray to light green/white... your change was much more drastic.
