Losing the whole concept, showing us Duncan and Veronica together, but showing Logan at the door and him getting together with Veronica and then explaining it. This could have the bonus of having the flashbacks continue for several episodes and not seem so rushed.

Yes! That is exactly how I felt. They could have made what happened between Logan and Veronica another mystery to learn about over a few episodes. I would be much more interested in the whole situation if it hadn't been thrown at me at 50 miles an hour. Plus, I feel cheated out of seeing more of how Logan handled the trial and the breakup. Or how Keith felt about it before Veronica ended the relationship. Or how Wallace handled her being with Logan over the summer. Or when Dick decided to suck up to Veronica and why. If that stuff doesn't every get shown, I am going to be cranky.

I think the biggest reason it bothers me is because it just feels cheap instead of actually surprising me or fooling me. And I would have preferred the flashbacks to go on longer, because right now I can't tell if my interpretation of them is correct or if some things only seem that way because they're only showing pivotal events.

Yeah, the "your boyfriend" crap kind of bugged as well. I actually noticed during the first watching that they were really unwilling to say the name in the present, which telegraphed the entire "twist" (although, I did do a fair share of "what? WHAT?" at that commercial break when they revealed it). In fact, I remember when she said something about him visiting his dad and skipping the first few days of school and Wallace being all "why would he want to do that?" that it was stupid to say that as I was thinking that she was probably with Duncan now and that Wallace's reaction to Jake Kane (even though he did act shadily, he was protecting his son) wouldn't be that strong, so the line seemed off. Even though we were supposed to still be thinking that the boyfriend was Logan at that point ( ... )

I know, even though I knew she'd be with Duncan, I was still surprised at actually seeing it.

The Wallace comment was kind of stupid, because who would ever think Logan would want to see Aaron right now, and why would Wallace feel that way? The only thing he knows is that Jake lied to protect his son, and he could quite possibly know that Jake threatened Aaron. It's still dumb, because why wouldn't Duncan go see his father?

Even though I like Meg a lot and think she could have a lot to contribute as a character I'm still miffed that she's not dead. It feels like a copout. But then, I always thought the rape reveal was kind of a copout too, and if they don't show any consequences of it what-so-ever I'm going to return to thinking it's a copout. So there! ;-)

I didn't even notice Donna wasn't in the credits this week. Eee. I don't like that at all. Though, you're probably right, they're probably just putting the people who are in it that week in the credits. Though, I wasn't paying attention, so I didn't notice if Charlie and Will were in the credits or not ( ... )

Charlie was not in the credits, and I suppose Will wasn't either, but I don't know one way or another.

One thing that I've noticed after rewatching after having seen the teaser is that when Meg gets up to go sit further away from Veronica it actually looks like she takes off a seatbelt. I don't even know if school buses have seatbelts these days (they didn't back when I rode them. That I can remember), but Meg would soooo be someone to use them. Quite possibly the only one in a bus full of kids. I'm clinging to that being the explanation for her survival.

I like genuine Gotchas! Ones where I feel totally blown away by the revelation. Here? I didn't. I knew it was coming, so it only felt cheap.

The more I watch this episode the more it pisses me off too. I was so "OMFG!" at first, but now...meh.

I can't believe they didn't kill Meg. What a cop-out. Although it's probably there as a plot device to cause tension between V/D.

Heh, your icon! "all dead"...except not so much.

I'm not exactly sure how Meg will be used to cause tension between V/D because it felt like Veronica had more genuine feelings for Logan than Duncan did for Meg. Though that may be the TD factor rearing its ugly head again.

Well yeah... I know that now. Thanks a lot RT! Pffft. ;)

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I guess they'll just keep her in a coma until the last episode and she can wake up and tell everyone what happened... Yeah, that would suck. Why didn't they just KILL her?

TD is just...meh. I TRY to like him, I really do, but...meh.

Hey, if anyone asks you can just say you're referring to the relationship in the icon. ;-)

I actually hope they have her wake up quickly, or die quickly. Comas just seem like cheap plot devices at best.

I think I could have loved Duncan had someone else played him. Not Duncan/Veronica, because it's the type of relationship that always bores me, but Duncan on his own or with someone else? He has all the makings of a terrifically nuanced character and TD just makes him fall flat every single time.

In fact, I kinda wish he and Meg would bond over their bitterness over the way they were both dumped.

Now you understand my weird little Logan/Meg thing and why I dug that fic that buffyx wrote. They're almost complete opposites and you know any kind of relationship between the two of them would create drama with V/D, even if it's obviously just a comfort/revenge kind of hookup. It would have an emotional impact on V like Logan/Kendall would but it would also be more relevant to both Veronica and Duncan. I don't think it would happen on the show, although I didn't really think V/L would happen either, so who knows.

I liked Janeane Garofalo on TWW, too. She's a good dramatic actress and she can definitely hold up her end of a scene with BW.

BTW - No spoilers in there. For all we know, Meg could spend the rest of her life needing a machine to breathe. I just knew she survived the accident but was in the state she's in now.

I do understand it! And though I liked the fic and like the idea of them bonding, I do NOT want them to become involved. I hate that incestuous feeling almost all shows acquire, where love interests can only be plucked from a cast of 20 or so. I'd much rather see new people than them forcing two people we already know into a relationship.

I've always liked Janeane, as a comedian and an actress, and I agree with her view on most things so...

And it's funny (in regard to your other comment), but I never thought for a second that you'd spoil me. You're always so careful not to say too much (and I love you for it! =).

I know what you mean and teen shows do that constantly. I think part of what makes me go for it is they've never really had personal interaction on the show, so it would still seem kind of "new" to me. I'd settle for some mutual moping during their lunch period, though.
