Listen to music in my room while doodling; walk in the woods or someplace where there is no cellphone tower; meditate; take herbs to calm myself....depends on situation.

Ok for some reason the spam filter doesn't like it when I use the word "stimtoy" because it thinks it is something sexual when it is actually a helpful tool for those with low oxytocin or those on the austism spectrum. But really to calm myself i bite on them. It also does not like my link. So i will spell it out phonetically to get around filter.

1. Get in a dim, quiet place; you need to re-charge & re-connect. Don't talk to others until you're in a better emotional space and only ppl you REALLY trust.

2. Put on easy to take music: big band, light jazz, ambience

3. Remind myself of things I love, especially old: Favorite shows, films, books, etc.

4. Go for a walk, preferably in nature, but a stroll to a store & back will do.

5. Hydrate. Drink water. Or hot herbal tea. Don't overdo caffeine or liquor. That works better if you're moderately stressed. Clean oneself too.

6. Clean, de-clutter, or organize a small thing, helps to reestablish some order & power

A couple of things you mentioned worked.

1.'Get in a dim', quiet place; you need to re-charge & re-connect.
2.'Don't talk to others until you're in a better emotional space' and only ppl you REALLY trust.
3.'Hydrate. Drink water. Or hot herbal tea. Don't overdo caffeine or liquor. That works better if you're moderately stressed.'

These would be good as well-

1.'Clean oneself too. '
2.'Clean, de-clutter, or organize a small thing, helps to reestablish some order & power'

I play with things with my hands. Click pens, twirl hair, that sort of thing.
