Another wasted moment realising we're not real

May 29, 2008 20:53

I had to take a break from the Lena/Queen Gorgo painting 'cause tomorrow we're gonna celebrate my grandma birthday and I didn't know what to get her... so I kind of cheated and made a watercolor painting. I'm sure she'll appreciate it and all, but sometimes I really feel like I'm cheating, you know, not spending any money like everybody else. Oh, ( Read more... )

Beautiful! :D missninabauer13 May 29 2008, 20:03:49 UTC
Dear God, you wretched cheater!!! HOW COULD YOU?! ;) Really though, I love it! It is simplistic yet elegant and delicate, as you said. The colors are amazing and go well together, as well. :) And I know she will love it! Grandparents in general always cherish the things we actually make for them! ;) You are so talented... you must paint me something!!! ;D

LOLOL! I know right, I'm such a bad person, cheating like that. ;D I'm glad you liked it, I hope grandma will like it just as much. :)
Lol, what would you like me to paint you? ;)

It's beautiful!

And no way is that cheating. It's much more meaningful to know someone took the time to make you something than just go out and buy it!

That's beautiful - wow. Very serene and a gorgeous image. I don't think it's cheating at all. Spending money on presents is fine, but this is something personal that you spent a lot of time on. I think that's much more special.

Thanks! :)
Actually, I didn't even spend so much time on it... 4-5 hours (while watching tv). Painting with watercolors is rather easy once you've envisioned the design you wanna do and how you wanna do it (you just have to be very careful not to make any mistake 'cause there's no turning back)... see why I feel like I cheated? :P

Lol your icon - no more polar bears? :P

Speak for yourself, I don't think I've ever spent 4-5 hours on a gift :P And God knows I admire people with that sort of artistic ability, I gave up trying to paint or do anything visually artistic after a few fiascos in elementary school.

In my defense, it was a cute polar bear, and it was in the water! But yeah, this is actually a manatee, I'm pretty sure.

That's amazing, my friend. You can do me one, hee. ;)

And I don't think it's cheating at all. In fact, it's far more personal and significant than something bought. All that time and effort, especially.
