I have a question.

Has Wedge ever had seats outside of the yellow section at marcus before?

That was Wedge's first time to Summerfest.

However, given that he's been an equipment loader/unloader at venues like the Reliant Energy Center he's seen a lot of different concerts (of different genres) I think he has a better idea than either of us how much impact on the sound the person running it has.

Personally, unless I'm forgetting, I've only seen two shows at Summerfest outside the pavilion (Pearl Jam in '95 and Metallica in '94). I've also only seen 2 concerts in the Yellow (Pearl Jam '95 and STP in '94). All those shows sounded just fine.

I've been there plenty of times and yes the yellow does sound fine, most of the time and when it doesn't it's likely to be the band more than the venue. It's when you get behind that when it starts to sound shitty. My guess would be because there is no roof over the seats behind the yellow and the sound probabaly disperses more, again this is just a guess. Alpine doesn't have a roof at all from what I remember and the sound is fine there, but because of that they can probably get things right a lot easier.

I knew that was Wedge's first time to Summerfest. There are shows there when Summerfest isn't going on.

Alpine has a pavilion, it's just higher, and more open on the sides.
