I didn't do anything special to boost my signal... In fact I have my wireless router in just about the worst spot... in the basement next to my fuse panel, either of which would make it a bad location. I did try streaming some Replay shows from my computer to my notebook, and standard transferred fine, medium was jerky over a long distance, but when I moved closer to the router, it got better. My laptop is the best at playing videos though so it isn't a great test.

Oh, you just did that with the cable signal then? Because it occurs to me now it MIGHT be possible to run cords through the attic.

While testing last night, going from the bedroom to the livingroom worked ok at Medium...barely acceptable. from the Livingroom to the bedroom (the direction we're more likely to stream) is just not happening WAY too jumpy.

The Linksys, do you think I need a signal booster, the distance the signal has to travel is less than 30 feet.

But like I said, for $30 bux you can run cable and put nice outlet boxes where the cable needs to be.

That is if you know how, I have no idea how to create male Cat5 from blank cord, much less female Cat5 jacks attached to walls...

Plus where is a good place to purchase the blank-ended wire?
