It especially killed me that people in his camp were not letting out any information how bad off he was when he became terminal-so his death was as sudden for me as MJ's. (I would call the number of "Barfko-Swill," 818-PUMPKIN, and be told, "Oh, Frank's doing fine.")

Without a doubt, Michael Jackson was genius, and very misunderstood. Unfortunately, he had a severe case of Body Dysmorphic Disorder; most people don't have the resources to have the number of operations he had trying to conform to his physical ideal, rather than learn psychologically to deal with reality. (Sad, too: he was a very handsome kid.)

I never met Frank in any way; I saw him twice in concert, so the closest I ever got to him was being in the same room with him. Still, when he died, I barely ate for a week and wondered if I'd ever find anything to live for again.
