I was reading about this recently. I knew there were some juicy scandals in the history of the Papacy but I had no idea just how outrageous things really were in the ninth century.

Haha, yeah.. I was a bit suprised too. I had to share it. *^.^*

I was just watching a documentary, 'Sex in the Middle Ages', and was amazed at how they managed to find some twisted logic accepting of severe tortures and executions for human sexuality. And inforce it! Madness. Fascinating, though.

Did you learn anything interesting while reading?

Oh yeah, of course the people doing it were stupid. haha Trangressions and crossing taboos are often appealing for people, especially when there is some power they can abuse. So, as dumb as it seems, they probably got off on getting away with it. lol Plus, torture and execution have been spectacle and entertainment so often in the history of humanity, it's not too out of the ordinary, just more morbid, vengeful, and with less screaming. :P

I am just amazed at the infamy factor or the dug up corpse! O_O
