Life gets harder in a hot, dry summer. For awhile you still mow, you get out earlier, before the heat kills you. Then there's no rain and nothing to mow. Even the trees suffer. We're getting plenty of rain up here - we must be the only place in the U.S. It's been hot, but wet and green, and there are bugs and birds galore. Two tiny baby deer cavorted across the field today with their mom watching from the edge.
