Hopefully if I say this loud enough, people will listen:

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie? IS NOT A REMAKE.

Another movie based on the book (and a closer adaptation)? YES. Remake? NO.

Jesus, Lord.

Agreed, Miss Amy. It isn't a remake. Although I think it will be interesting to watch the old version and compare it to the new version -- just to note all the differences. But, yes, Tim Burton is making a much closer adaptation than the original ever was. I can't wait to see what Johnny Depp does with the role of Willy Wonka. EEEEEE! Excitement!

Did Amy watch VM when it was on CTV or whatever it was this week? =cough= Just a question of random curiousity. Because VM fandom kicks ass. :)

Methinks Lizzy likes that show a lil. ;) I had no idea it was on actually. If I did I definitely would have watched, but my head is all over the place these days so I wouldn't have been surprised if I had known about it and STILL missed it. Damn.

Also: Yay Johnny! Though he looks oddly creepy in this, I'm sure I'll like.

*Cough* I'm guilty of believing it was a remake, at least thats what I read ages ago, but since then I've come to believe its completely different. *nods*

Even so, Johnny Depp looks too creepy for me to even consider seeing it.

Nah, you're allowed. It's just the people who are crazy insane and firm in their belief that OMG IT IS A REMAKE and refuse to believe otherwise that drives me nuts.

Johnny does have a Marilyn Manson-esque vibe that concerns me, I admit.
