This whole telling Buffy I have a date with some guy I met in the CD store could go okay, or it could go the way I expect, which is generally not good. I see Dawn coming from the opposite towards Xander's apartment. I smile towards her. She looks like as if she may be finally happy and that really is why we're here. She deserves to be happy - and if she likes LA? Even if I have to suffer months without my sister.
"Hey, Dawnie." I said as we met at the front door of Xander's apartment. "How was the mall? Sufficient amount of pretty shoes?"

Which was true. All of it. I figured I'd work her up to the whole concept of me having a date with said hot guy in a few minutes. One thing at a time, given that I know she's so less than thrilled about being in L.A.

Nice distraction from the good percentage of boys around here who may or may not be interested in me... talk about boys with Dawn.
"Oh! Before I forget, I reserved dinner for you, me and Xander at that place we always eat at while we're in LA." I commented.

"The hot guy, Connor? We kinda have dinner plans, and movie plans, and coffee plans..." I said quickly, "It's this big date plan we had. I mean, I have his phone number and I guess I could call him and tell him we can't do the dinner part of the plan tonight, but he's supposed to be here in like an hour."
Okay. She was gonna kill me. It was gonna be like I never existed...just gone from the face of the earth. I should have been asking if the plan was okay instead of telling her thats what I was doing but she kinda backed me into a corner, so what else was I supposed to do.
"Are you mad?" I asked hesitantly.
