Actually, that's what I intended. That Proxy One is the original (hence he dies from sunlight) while Ergo was the 'shadow'(which is something I'm pretty sure Proxy One calls him). But the theory still stands, they agreed to become separate physical entities and the physical form that becomes known as Ergo/Vincent was created ( ... )

Forgot to answer this one. I saw the 'interview'(isn't really an interview per say) with Dai Sato on a random blog when I was scouring the net a little bit, basically the blog was talking about Engrish and apparently the blogger knew Dai Sato personally and was telling the blogger about his new project 'Ergo Proxy' and when asked why he chose the name (considering its quite odd both in latin and when translated into english, they pretty much mean the same thing.) and he replied "it sounded cool ( ... )

Yeah. I agree fully, Proxy One is obviously the original. The pulse of the awakening could be interpreted as a more 'primal' notion of self-preservation. An immortal creature has suddenly felt an unfamiliar feeling of mortality crawl up its spine. They're ought to feel quite upset ( ... )

Humanity would be coming back to Earth under the assumption that everything went to plan and that all the proxies are dead and they have nothing to worry about. So they wouldn't be actively hunting Vincent down unless he decides to pop out and say hello.
well... not so sure about that. you see, the existence of EP itself and him being alive despite the HoA seems to be much a lesser problem than the complete failure of all projects. no rebuilt Earth, no cleaned environment. humanity will come down to find itself in ruins. so i think it won't be hard for them to guess that something went terribly wrong. whether they'll try to find the cause immediately is questionable though, but not impossible.

I have to disagree that his own purpose(that is, the one he wishes of himself) is to follow through with the revenge plot. well, it seemed to me that P1 convinced him that the only way he can live and let Re-l live is to fight. thus the extremely cool "i'm the fucking proxy of death" ending. i think that it had its purpose - to show us that EP ( ... )

Hmm... I dunno I can see what you mean, I always thought that the ultimate problem was the lack of sunlight due to the smog from the initial disaster. This is easy to see considering how important sunlight is to everything on earth (not to mention the lack of it caused an abnormal ice age.) but I completely forget the fact that its still remains a toxic wastedump...

True that, I dunno why I keep aiming for a pacifist second season.

As for my last passage, I was more pointing out the fact that it seems the writers were taking a sledgehammer to the concept of God (to the delight of atheists everywhere!). Stating that the Proxies are no more a God than say a Superhero seems to have god like powers to an ordinary man. Or as Kousagi pointed out "Mother is God in the eyes of a child". They're only seen as god because at first they seem to be a greater being, when in reality they suffer the exact same flaws that the humans who look up to them suffer.
