OH, ALSO, His flings never meant anything to him beyond sex, and Daniel meant everything to him, though the sex barely factored into it. It was just another thing they did sometimes, like go for coffee or argue over pointless things like the font the magazine was in. is the best line in the history of all lines in the history of ever! ngl, i ship dan/jones like a motherfucker. but everytime i watch nathan barley and dan tells jonatton "you've gone to piddle", idk why it makes me think they have a History. nb is kind of open season for shipping, though, because it's this tiny snapshot of events that feels like it starts right in the middle of something and doesn't really have a beginning or an end. we're just dropped into these characters' lives for like a week or two and sort of given their pasts and futures to fill in. i love it! even though/because it's depressing as hell!

Oh, I totally ship Dan/Jones too, but Jonatton was always my favourite, even before I actively shipped him with anyone. He's just such an enormous twat that I couldn't help but love him XD

I love how you keep picking quotes I love. That second one, omg. It's probably my favourite quote in the whole fic, because I feel like it just explains their relationship so perfectly.

Alsooo, I have read in so many fics where Dan is like some ~tortured writer~ who is just a victim and yeah, he kind of is, but he's just as much of a self absorbed douche as anyone else in the show. AND I'M GLAD I COULD BRING THAT TO LIGHT. XD I mean, don't get me wrong, I love him a lot, but...he's to blame for a great portion of the shitty things in his own life.

I thought about the drugs thing for such a long time and puzzled back and forth over it. Nothing with Jonatton is ever just straight forward, but I feel like he did it both because it was trendy and everyone was doing it and because it was a symptom of his underlying issues. I feel like a lot of
