OH, ALSO, His flings never meant anything to him beyond sex, and Daniel meant everything to him, though the sex barely factored into it. It was just another thing they did sometimes, like go for coffee or argue over pointless things like the font the magazine was in. is the best line in the history of all lines in the history of ever! I love how you keep picking quotes I love. That second one, omg. It's probably my favourite quote in the whole fic, because I feel like it just explains their relationship so perfectly.
Alsooo, I have read in so many fics where Dan is like some ~tortured writer~ who is just a victim and yeah, he kind of is, but he's just as much of a self absorbed douche as anyone else in the show. AND I'M GLAD I COULD BRING THAT TO LIGHT. XD I mean, don't get me wrong, I love him a lot, but...he's to blame for a great portion of the shitty things in his own life.
I thought about the drugs thing for such a long time and puzzled back and forth over it. Nothing with Jonatton is ever just straight forward, but I feel like he did it both because it was trendy and everyone was doing it and because it was a symptom of his underlying issues.
