I have a degree.  I think I did fairly well in school.  I have three years of major corporate experience, I'm personable, friendly, and while not a MILF, not repulsive.  The best I've managed to swing is a part time job at AmericanWinery.com for an undisclosed somewhere from 10-13 dollars an hour, and part time at Home Depot for $10.50.

It's not education and charisma that really matter in making money. It's ambition. Those other two things can help, sure... but if the ambition and the drive isn't there, the tools don't get used.

If you want to make money, then WANT it. Don't get stuck in the wage-slave mentality. Go start your own business, follow a passion. Be your own boss. It isn't easy, but it's damn rewarding once you get on your feet and run with it.

I did go for it. When I went to Seattle I increased my income substaintially in one year by - I almost doubled it. Just moving to Walla Walla has made me start all over. Every time I go somewhere I've kicked ass at each job, and my last boss was practically in tears when I left. I know it will happen one day, but it just gets really frustrating to see someone like Michael's step dad find an "old buddy" who owns a grocery store and give him almost what I had to fight to get because the job market here is so bad.

Starting my own business...well as soon as I can take care of the debt I already have...then we'll talk.

Something tells me that Michael's step dad won't have his job for very long.

that might be true...that's what michael said also.

On another note. AmericanWinery.com is about to open the shopping cart to purchase wines directly from the wineries - so that's development, and possibly an income increase. So maybe I won't feel like this for too long!
