You been through a tough few years, where the YMP program worked you hard to learn your craft and the discipline to keep going on your own. So, you may have indeed given up more then some folks do.

However, you can are focused on what you have "lost", but think about what you have gained in the process.

Coolness on the trip to DC for the inauguration. You will be present at a historic event, that I wish I could attend.

Yes, I got the cookies! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I have seriously already finished them off. Like, I opened the box, and ten minutes later, they were gone. Amazing! As always! Will you both be going to the New Years party? I am trying my hardest to be able to go, and I would love to see you there if possible.

I can relate to the whole "Different than I was" thing. It's pretty weird, but you'll get used to it if you liked what you become.
