Just closed my chase account last week. I've been a loyal credit union customer for over 7 years. But I had to do something with a cashier's check when I was out of state for an extended period last summer. I didn't want to walk around with thousands of dollars in cash in my pocket, so I opened a chase account. I finally closed the chase account last week. I would have done it sooner but I had to wait at least 90 days to avoid incurring a early closure fee. They were relatively polite when I closed the account, but they made me explain my reasons a couple of times and kept pestering me by mentioning how good their services were, oh and by the way, do you know that you qualify for a free checking account with that savings account?
