i know i know, i'm real lousy... but i need help in finding a good hotel to stay in bangkok. Any reccomendations? Preferably near the city-area or near BTS stations... I'm not sure if Ecotel Hotel and Baiyoke Boutique Hotel is that close to the city. Anyone knows? =S Or is Sukhumvit closer to the city?

the last time my cousins went, they stayed at Pathunwan princess as well. But that's supposedly a 5-star or so hotel in BKK. You probably can find cheaper hotels in the area. =)

i went BKK recently and stayed at Ecotel. Room is clean and nice. i walked from the hotel to Platinum in about 15 mins. If not can jus catch a tuktuk or cab if you are lazy ;)oh and its rather cheap! breakfast is the same everyday though but you can easily go out for breakfast at the malls. It is not too bad a hotel if you are going to shop and go back hotel to deposit ur shopping then continue shopping again etc. Oh and there is a few massage places just below the hotel, one good one is called MAC (orange decor), you can try if you choose to stay at Ecotel! ;) Another place you can try is Tango Vibrant Living, my colleague said it was not bad. Quite nearby Ecotel area.

Heard baiyoke is overrated and not clean? not sure.

the last time i went during the red shirt rally, i stayed further out at The Palazzo, hotel is cheap and not bad! walking distance from the BTS Huai Kwang and there is a night market behind the hotel.
