I was driving another person's mini van back from youth conference on Saturday when we got hit by a semi. There were six of us in the car all together. One girl got a broken leg while the others just got bumps on the head. The other two adults are in ICU at Creighton. Lisa had to be airlifted there. I was released right away with just a bruise

Thanks. All the girls are fine and the girl with the broken leg will have the cast off in six weeks. Lisa, who was airlifted to the hospital, was discharged today. The other adult, Laurie, was sitting where the semi hit and will need a couple of months of bed rest for her pelvis and spine.

I visited with Lisa a bit this morning before she was released. Her and her husband were telling me about how the hospital refers to multiple patients from the same accident as 'families.' The patients from our accident are called the 'La La La La Family' because the staff was confused by all the L names. There are Lisa, Laurie, Lauren, who had the broken leg, and then me, Laura.

But everyone is in good spirits and there are so many little miracle stories coming out about this (like cell phones that worked after the accident when they shouldn't have got reception).
