Morals are determined by whom? Really, who claims responsibility for the definition of such a broad idealism. I believe there are cores of people who represent each category of what are morals. I don't know where I fall, and I'm not sure if I will or can ever be placed into a distinct belief of what is "right","wrong", or absurd. I guess that's why ( Read more... )

right and wrong are dependently co-arisen like everything: one needs the context of its opposite to cull either into existence. the moral standard is an imposed one, not at all inherent in the cosmic design. there is no absolute in human morals.

lyke for example: it is wrong to kill.

while murder is pretty un-cool, "it is wrong to kill" isn't an absolute at all. pre-humans, killing was law and even now consider the mentality of war in which murder is made bearable by its contribution to a positive end effect.

that all makes sense, that is why i am so confused you see, jack c! your example-killing as considered to be right or wrong in different settings seems to set up many oxy morons. not as if i am reffering to murder, but lighter subjects such as lusting or taking advantage of a moment, even if you know in your mind it is the worst possible thing you could do. ahh.

p.s- i like that you spelled like, "lyke". :).

i guess remember that reality is dynamic. i don't mean that nothing matters, or it's all the same because it's all relative. nihilism sucks. i feel you though, i live in a dream world myself and am prone to recklessness.
