Has any other community members read True Compass Teddy's Memoir?

While I may be a little biased, I do have to say it was one of the most eloquent memoirs I have read. It was full of sentiment but it wasn't sentimental. There were moments were tears swelled.

I has borrowed it from the library but I think I might save up to buy it.

I agree. I found it enjoyable to read. I responded to the fact it wasn't necessarily weighed down with dates and chronological order. Stories were recounted based on their importance not out of necessity.

I thought his insights into the Senate and the changing traditions interesting. I also appreciated it wasn't weighed down with too much personal narration. As much as I love the Kennedy's I also respected he left a lot of events private especially with his first wife Joan. I feel that often the authors try and re-write history, instead I think he respected others privacy.

As I said, I do plan on buying it because it was a beautiful memoir.

AHHH I bought it but I've been too busy to read it. I really have to start on it . . . even if it's only a few pages here and there. : )

If you order stuff online, try half.com cos they usually have brand new books for way less than sticker price. Or check a whole-sale club if you have one. I got mine for $20, which wasn't bad at all. Sadly, I'm STILL on chapter 4 cos I'm so unmotivated when it comes to reading, even though I don't wanna put it down when I start reading it (I read it before bed if I'm not too tired yet, then get too tired to continue).
