Brady and Patsy:Tea Party in Brady's Room!

May 06, 2004 16:42

Brady jumped a little when Patsy agreed to play tea party, how exciting! Someone to play tea party with that wasn't stuffed and was alive! "My room of course," she insisted, pulling her back towards the stairs and past Mouse and Salene. "I'm not allowed up the stairs alone," she informed her, waiting for her to start going up them before taking ( Read more... )

Patsy smiled as Brady pulled her up the stairs to her room. She grinned brightly watching Brady drop her doll into the chair and run around getting ready. She sat into one of the little chairs Brady had for playing.

"What kind of tea are we having today, Brady?"

Patsy sighed and bit her lip. This was a touchy subject. Brady was too young to understand that everyone else's parents had died.

"Brady, everyone has a mommy and a daddy. My mommy's name was Martha. My daddy's name was Andrew. But I'm not as lucky as you, I don't get to live with my mommy or daddy. And your mommy loves you so much! But you know what? You're very lucky. In a way, you have lots of mommies and daddies. Everybody here at the Mall takes care of you. And they take care of me too. We have the biggest family in the world."

Patsy hoped that was a sufficient explanation. She smiled, and gave Brady a hug.

Brady listened to Patsy talk, nodding her head, well that made sense, and everyone here did take good care of Brady, and she did feel like she had a lot of mommies sometimes, and she loved everyone who lived here, well, almost everyone. Brady returned the hug but furrowed her forehead, that still didn't answer her original question. "Ok but who is my daddy? I never had a daddy, and Uncle Bray isn't my daddy, is Hawk my daddy?" Brady squinted up, very concerned. Didn't everyone have a daddy? Brady couldn't be completely without one could she? Was that even possible? "Do I have a bunch of daddies?" maybe no one knew who her daddy was anyway, maybe Brady would just have to go around to each of the guys in the Mall and ask them if they were her daddy until she found one. Yes, that was a plan. Brady started to wiggle and got down, "Patsy my tummy is hungry," she declared before taking off, Lily in her arms, heading for the cafe.

"No, you have a daddy, Brady." Patsy figured it couldn't hurt to tell her at least his name. "Your father's name was Martin."

Patsy wondered what she'd say, but by the time she'd said it Brady was already starting to leave, and Patsy wondered if she's heard her at all.

"OK Patsy! Let's go!" Brady cried as she ran down the hallway towards the main cafe, now determined more than ever to find her Mommy and ask about this Martin person.
