Oh! I saw a panel about The Secret World last year, and it seemed like it could be fun, but then I got too busy to play anything and didn't keep following the news. The little I read when it came out just made it seem kind of confusing.... Hmm, interesting to read your thoughts about trying it out.

It's interesting. The big difference to most games is that there are no such things as levels. You gain abilities and skills and experience, but you don't go from level 1 to 60 or something. You can have solo instances in TSW, which sound interesting. You can only have one main (story) quest and three side quests active. What I liked is that you can see how many steps there are in a particular quest chain.

I couldn't quite figure out the ability and skill points, but I only played a few hours in total so that's not too surprising. I probably would have continued to play, if the game were F2P. I probably wouldn't play so much to make it worth paying a monthly fee for it.
