That was freakishly cute. Bofur admitting he wrote ~sonnets~ about Bilbo made me chuckle. It was nice to see Bilbo not being the oblivious one for a change.
This is sweet and your likely lads are not only slightly daft, but also both of them braver than they give themselves credit for, and your Bofur's voice, in particular, is coming through very clearly. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! From someone who does characterization the way you do--deftly, powerfully, and so freakishly well--that's praise high enough to get me giddy. Really. I've got the flaily-hands, and everything :)
I love your characterisation of both Bilbo and Bofur - at least they reach the same point on the page eventually! Loved the fact that the rest of the company had been taking wagers as to how long it would take the two of them to get there. Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for reading and enjoying and commenting. I love when the characterization really works for my readers.
Bilbo and Bofur would've been so obvious, that everyone was weighing in on it, on one side or the other. Surprisingly, Gandalf placed his money on Bilbo and Thorin. . . .

I'm a sonnet-writer, myself, and they are quite ghastly. I mary-sued Bofur, just a little bit, hee!

Bofur was a bit kiss-stupid, so we must forgive him for not being as swift on the uptake as usual. Hee!

And Bilbo and Bofur were, to some of the dwarves, anyway, inevitable.
