*g* Yes, I would totally recommend GoT to anyone, as long as you're prepared for the fact that Very Bad Things are going to happen to most of the characters! It's gripping and complicated and funny and gorgeous, and I don't just mean the sets and costumes. ;) It might interest you to know that one of the main characters is played by the young Scot Richard Madden, who is ginger and adorable and made of awesome. ♥
