Oh, how I miss the carefree days of my youth when summer meant checking out mountains of library books and spending every waking moment reading by/in a pool! As for Karl Urban, I have a huge soft spot for him, because with Star Trek he's now been a part of no less than three slash pairings I'm partial to (Faramir/Eomer, Riddick/Vaako and any combination of McCoy/Scotty/Chekov). Sadly I find Kirk too annoying to be able to read Kirk/McCoy, so there isn't much for me even in such a thriving fandom as Star Trek (it's a curse - when I'm not into the most obscure fandoms ;-), I find myself the most obscure pairings). If you can stomach Kirk, though, you must have so many good stories to read now... :is jealous:

Heh, my soft spot for Karl Urban has less to do with the roles he's played (though Eomer is one of my favourite literary characters of all time) and more to do with the fact that he is 1)a totally endearing dork and 2)acres of tall, dark, and handsome and pretty much my ideal man. Bones and Spock are my favourite original Trek characters; I've always found Kirk annoying and laughable, really. But I thought the reboot did a much better job of showing the intelligence and courage hiding behind all the skirt-chasing and reckless behavior. ;)
