As a matter of fact, whenever a celebrity spouts off about beliefs they have that I think are weird (be it religious, political, whatever), I like them less. I realize they have their own opinions just like everybody else and that's great, but somehow I'd just rather they keep us guessing about some things. I just don't like it when celebrities reveal too much of their personal lives.

As a teen, I was so enamoured of an Aussie band called the Church. Their song lyrics were able to create incredibly beautiful and moving imagery, and did in fact make me feel quite spiritual. When I found out many years later that the lead singer and main songwriter Steve Kilbey was an almost life-long heroin addict, it kind of killed things a bit. I STILL love their music, but it's just a little differnt know. Conversely, I've ALWAYS known Nick Cave was a heroin addict and still liked him.
As for Michael Jackson, I think the saddest part by far, is that even if he is proven to be innocent of child molestation, he CLEARLY has ... well... a few issues. OK, a LOT of issues. And no one close to him has ever suggested he seek help, or even wanted him to have any help, because it's far more profitable to have him seen as "Whacko Jacko".
