I wish I had the answers but all I can offer you is an ear if you need it. One thing I can tell you is that you don't have to be Little Miss Sunshine 24/7--it's OK if you aren't, and to think you have to be is putting unnecessary pressure on yourself and I don't think you need that! If people don't like it they can go home and watch "Sesame Street" where everyone is cheerful all the time ( ... )

Wow...2 years? Please please please tell me how you did that! I feel like I'm swimming in debt already...I only have about $16,000 to pay back for that year in grad school, but I think it's going to take me a long, long time. I can only afford to pay the bare minimum monthly payment and literally half of that goes to just the interest! Aaaahhhggghhh! I didn't think I was going to be able to swing that, but I refinanced my car so I think I'm OK and I'm paying that sucker off as fast as humanly possible so I'll have more $$$ to throw at The Student Loan People.

I'm with you...it bothers me how depression has gotten to be an "illness" now, because I think it's totally normal to feel less-than-chipper when you feel things aren't going so hot. Are we not allowed to have moments like that anymore?

I don't have any great words of wisdom, but I'm sorry that things are stressful. It's completely normal to feel the way you are feeling. Do you have any big state-wide grants you can get your first semester? I know VA has a TAG grant that gets me a free class each semester for grad school as long as I'm full time. My fingers are crossed that things will get better.
